Hello Live Music Fans:
Our show November 6, 2015 at The Cary Arts Center was where we presented, along with the Town of Cary, the fabulous Shana Tucker.
SHANA TUCKER is a singer-songwriter and cellist who credits her genre-bending ChamberSoul™ journey to the influences of her jazz and classical roots interwoven with 80’s & 90’s pop music, movie soundtracks, and world music.
Touted by JazzTimes Magazine as “a jazz talent…whose imprint and vitality has already been quite visible in North Carolina,” Shana’s style and sound as been described as a mash-up of Dianne Reeves, Joni Mitchell, and Tracy Chapman, with an efficient complexity that is reminiscent of Bill Withers. ChamberSoul™ best describes what the listener should expect when experiencing Shana’s music. “I’m intrinsically drawn to “real” instruments, with resonance, tone and depth that can sound without amplification. Whenever and however possible, I always try to set a tone of acoustic intimacy with my colleagues on stage, and also with the audience, so that the music, performers and audience feel close and tangible, no matter the size the venue.”
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 28, 2015, will bring our annual Post Turkey Benefit Jam hosted by Jon Shain. Joining Jon on stage will be ace bass player FJ Ventre, The Parsons, Dave Burney of Johnny Folsom 4 and The Gravy Boys. What a show! All proceeds will benefit The Interfaith Council for Social Services and The Relief for Recreation Fund. Bring the family down to The Cary Theater while they are visiting for Thanksgiving.
On December 11, 2015, we bring back the fantastic Jonathan Byrd and The Pickup Cowboys. This show sold out last year, so get your tickets early. Jonathan will have his good friend Corin Raymond from Canada opening for him and they do a few songs together for a great night of music.
Tickets for all these shows can be purchased in advance on our website at www.sixstringpresents.com.
